Dr. John Fuder is the founder and director of Heart for the City, a ministry that exists to guide churches and organizations toward postures and practices of Biblically-centered justice and compassion. Fuder gained a passion to teach and train others to engage in their city after working in ministry training students in Urban Studies at Moody Theological Seminary. He now works to equip the Body of Christ to engage in their communities. One of the ways he does this is through PrayChicago, a citywide initiative which is taking place on June 18th 2016.

Fuder’s book, Heart for the City: Effective Ministries to the Urban Community, gives valuable information to those who are currently ministering in the city, and those who want to understand how to more effectively help in the city. John compiled the book and various case studies with the help of other writers which include pastors, Christian school administrators, and directors of homeless ministries. Each chapter focuses on a specific part of doing ministry within such an influential place. A Heart for the City is an encouragement for all those serving in the inner city.
